Objective:
To provide accurate and timely estimates to customers. Provide analysis of plans for potential value engineering opportunities. Analyze plans for potential liability as they relate to SeC products.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Produce accurate material takeoffs
- Recognize and/or identify issues or liabilities and address them quickly and as needed
- Perform material takeoffs from drawings to validate design and proposed quantities, measurements, etc.
- Analyze data and correlate to future sales and material needs
- With knowledge, experience, and increased capacity, identify opportunities and expand responsibilities to include analysis of data trends and competitive advantage
- Provide the client with value-engineered solutions, analyze plans, and prepare value-engineered estimates for teams to pursue
- Collaborate with engineering team to coordinate value-engineering opportunities for them to pursue
- Collaborate with Sales Team on prioritization and support on-time delivery of quotations
- Keep informed of industry changes, participate where possible in organizations directly involved within water quality markets, and continually work to improve team knowledge
- Coordinate with other departments regarding take offs, size of load, delivery distance, etc.
- Collect key documents, such as plans, blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications and organize folder for easy retrieval of files for quotes
- Enter orders for WQU and UGD chambers and sediment ponds
Competencies:
- Ability to prepare submittals, drawings, approvals for underground retention and chamber systems for engineering
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, high proficiency on Excel, ERP systems and Engineering software
- Ability to communicate easily with contractors, sales, engineers & owners
- Accuracy with data and numbers
- Comfort and competent both talking and meeting with clients
- Capable of understanding and following business processes
- Very detail oriented; diligent
- Possess a basic understanding of business functions and processes
- Strong ability to learn, self-starter and driven to perform at a high level
- Helpful and willing to go above and beyond
- Knowledge and/or field experience associated with utilities, construction or water quality
- Punctual, reliable, and good time management
- Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and plan drawings
- Strong data compilation, analysis, and interpretation capabilities
- Good verbal and written communication skills for dealing with clients, contractors, suppliers, admin team, etc.
- Capable of interpreting plans and making assumptions, with Engineering team, when needed, to provide estimates and to qualify the quote to protect the company
- Capable of predicting, with 2 days, and communicating to sales, the ability to complete estimate in window of time requested
